Description du lieu patrimonial

The Crozier Farmhouse is located at the end of 4265 Perivale Road, on the north side of Beacon Lane, in the City of Mississauga. The one-and-a-half storey frame structure, with a red brick façade, was constructed in 1846.

The property was designated, by the City of Mississauga in 2001, for its cultural heritage value, under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, By-law 515-2001.

Valeur patrimoniale

Originally on a much larger property, purchased by Christopher Crozier in 1845, the Crozier Farmhouse remains on a large lot, reminiscent of that original rural setting in which it was constructed, in 1846.

The Crozier Farmhouse is a good example of the Gothic style of architecture. Typical of this style is the steeply pitched roof with centre gable on the facade with a lancet window. The segmented arched head windows and decorative bargeboard also demonstrate the Gothic style. The windows on either side of the entrance feature large elliptical lunettes and radiating voussoirs.
