Statement of Significance

Description of Historic Place

Holmfield Centennial
Hall (1967) is a metal-clad pointed Quonset Hut with a smaller Gothic-arched porch at the front, a gable-roofed
porch near the rear on the east side, and an outdoor toilet attached to the rear. The municipal designation
applies to the building and the site on which it stands.

Heritage Value

Holmfield
Centennial Hall is valued as a community meeting place. The site has served as the home of the Holmfield
Town and Country Club since it was purchased for that purpose in 1956, and the current building was built
just over a decade later in Canada's Centennial year. It is used year-round as a social meeting
place in the Village of Holmfield.
