Statement of Significance
Description of Historic Place
The Villa del Lupo Restaurant is a two-storey, wood frame house located in Vancouver's Downtown South neighbourhood.
Heritage Value
The house is of value as a rare survivor of single-family residential development in a neighbourhood which predominantly consists of commercial structures and high-rise residential development.
Built circa 1900, the Villa del Lupo Restaurant is typical of early 20th century development in the Downtown South area because it demonstrates development on a 25 foot wide lot, and construction of housing according to a commonly-used Edwardian Carpenter style.
The house is valued for its adaptability and was converted to a restaurant in the late 20th century.
